The aim of the Parliamentary Secretariat for Social Dialogue and Accommodation is to ensure and provide various adequate forms of housing solutions to all residents in Malta and Gozo. The Parliamentary Secretariat is ultimately responsible for ensuring that those who need some form of assistance in connection with accommodation are assisted and supported. In recent years the role of the Parliamentary Secretariat has equalled itself to assist the most vulnerable with the assistance of social accommodation as well as to assist those who entered the property sector on their own without the assistance of the Government but through a number of schemes are being financially assisted to be supported as well.
The Parliamentary Secretariat is also responsible for regulating the rental market.
