The Ministry for Accommodation and Lands is responsible for developing and implementing Government policy in the areas of housing, as well as the management of Government land and public property.

The Ministry’s work focuses on ensuring that families and individuals have access to adequate and affordable housing, while developing sustainable solutions to the challenges faced by people seeking suitable accommodation.

Its key areas of responsibility include social housing, affordable housing, rental matters, the improvement and maintenance of Housing Estates, as well as initiatives aimed at facilitating home ownership.

The Ministry is also responsible for the management of Government land and property, including through the Lands Authority, the Joint Office and the Land Registration Agency.

Through continued collaboration with its entities, local councils, the private sector and other stakeholders, the Ministry aims to improve housing quality, make better use of public resources and contribute towards stronger and more sustainable communities.
